Lucy & Alex

Tithe Barn Wedding Film

Lucy & Alex’s wedding at Tithe Barn hinted at what sparked their first meaningful conversation over 5 years ago. They were both part of the University of Exeter cycling club and on one particular trip, they began chatting. They were so engrossed in conversation that they left the rest of the pack behind as they made their ascent up Cadbury Hill. Bicycle light fixtures, Tour de France shortbread favours and cyling metaphors were stylishly peppered throughout the wedding as a nod to their first encounter.

The morning drizzle cleared by the time the ceremony was finished and the guests enjoyed the gardens at Tithe Barn. The days events, including the speeches, wedding breakfast and ceremony all took place inside the converted barn. The building had a beautiful interior showing off exposed wooden beams and a sea of tungsten filament lightbulbs, which hung from the ceiling.

Two things really struck me about Lucy & Alex’s wedding. Firstly, Lucy & Alex were beaming throughout the whole day. Even a windy trip to the beach to get photos with Charlotte their photographer did not phase them, and I’m certain they’ll have some incredible images to show for it (on a similar note – I highly recommend Charlotte for anyone looking for a wedding photographer – link below). The second thing I noticed was how eloquent and well delivered all the speeches and readings were. Especially Alex’s brother’s “The Tour de France of Love” poem, which was drew some side-splitting parallels between marriage and the Tour de France. I’m going to sign off with the opening lines of that poem…

“You’re winning the Tour France de l’amore,
like Bradley Wiggins or Christopher Froome,
except your only drug is love,
and you make a far more fetching bride and groom”

Congratulations Alex & Lucy!
